Whether you’re an indie author, planning to self-publish or pursuing the traditional route, my aim is to be affordable, approachable and effective for any writer. Because of that, I do flat rates, so there are no hidden fees and you know exactly where you stand.
The rates below are for a manuscript up to 75,000 words.
Anything above that will cost an additional £30 per every 1000 words.
Line Editing
£600
Line editing refines your sentences and paragraphs, improving clarity, readability, and style. It focuses on word choice, sentence flow, and tone, making sure each line communicates your ideas effectively while keeping your voice consistent.
Developmental Editing
£800
Think big picture: we organise your ideas, shape the flow of your story or content, and ensure that your manuscript or document makes sense from start to finish. This type of editing looks at structure, pacing, and overall coherence.
Proofreading
£300
This is the final check before publication. It catches typos, punctuation errors, formatting issues, and minor inconsistencies. This step ensures you have a lovely, polished text.

A step beyond a standard beta read. You’ll receive report covering your opening hook, as well as the middle and ending pacing, satisfaction, and loose threads). It’s all about strengthening your book for other readers and agents.

Stuck in your story? Sometimes we need someone else to help us unlock clarity and momentum. That’s The Story Lab. Expect a collaborative session where we delve into your story: its structure, its heart; pacing, progression, and stakes. It’s all about finding where the story is going – together.
