Written something you love, and now you need someone you can trust with it?

Hey, I’m Immy. I edit novels and non-fiction. Nothing’s too off the beaten track around here.

My focus isn’t genre or your level of experience: it’s your story. Your ideas.

As an editor, my primary focus is to work behind-the-scenes to hand back to you a manuscript which leaves no trace I was there. I want your words to flow and your manuscript to have no weaknesses. All you should feel is confident and excited about your finished work! That’s what I’m here for.

I offer line and structural editing, and I edit only what’s necessary to make your work crystal clear. Accuracy and consistency are one side of the coin; creativity and genuine care are the other.

When we work together, I believe in your voice and your story. I adapt to your writing style. Whether you’re from the UK or across the pond, I’ll adapt to your “izms” or “isms.”

Your work should be entirely itself: everything you intended it to be.

How I work

As a freelancer, I edit your manuscript in its entirety from start to finish myself. Unlike bigger companies, I don’t outsource any work. This means you know exactly who you’re trusting, at all times. I pride myself on the way I approach each job: I get to know you, your ideas, and really get into the soul of the manuscript.

Our relationship is about honest communication, trust and a shared love of your manuscript. In that vein, my inbox stays open at all times to answer any of your questions and keep you updated. I work on MS Word with Track Changes, though I can use different mediums if you’d prefer.

I have been editing various books and essays since 2021, most recently working on a CUP-published theological book by Dr. Graham Twelftree. I have a degree in English Language and Literature from University of Oxford, where I held post as Editor on a journal, and am myself a published poet and writer.
